FAQs
What services do you offer?
1
I offer a range of solutions designed to meet your needs, whether you're just getting started or scaling something bigger. Everything is tailored to help you move forward with clarity and confidence. From monthly bookkeeping to multi-year cleanups, I’ve got you covered.
How do I get started?
2
Getting started is simple. Reach out via the Schedule A Free Consultation link above and I’ll walk you through the next steps and answer any questions along the way.
What exactly do I need to provide you each month?
3
For ongoing monthly bookkeeping services, bank and credit card statements are required in order to reconcile accounts and generate financial reports. You can either send them over to me each month, or grant me view only access to your bank accounts (if they offer it) and I can go in and grab them when I need to without you having to lift a finger.
What documents will you need for my clean up project?
4
The documents needed varies based on individual business needs, though typically I will require bank statements for all months being caught up, any fixed asset documents such as property closing statements, and prior year tax returns.
Do I have to use QuickBooks?
5
In order to become an expert in what I do, I have decided to work exclusively with QuickBooks Online. If you are not already using QuickBooks, or are using QuickBooks Desktop, we get you transferred over. Send me a message to discuss QBO discount opportunities!
What happens after my books are cleaned up and ready to go?
6
When your cleanup is completed, I will provide you with a link to a shared folder that contains a tax file with all the documents your CPA should need, as well as business reports for you. You will also get an excel workbook with your Chart of Accounts and Vendor list indicating where each vendor is typically** categorized to. From there, you can decide whether you want to take over your books on your own or discuss ongoing services, be it monthly or quarterly. Regardless, I won’t leave you hanging and I’m here to help during the post cleanup transition!
Do you do my taxes, too?
7
At this time, I am not offering tax filing or strategy services. I do, however, have a trusted tax advisor I can gladly refer you to should you need a referral!
What type of businesses do you work with?
8
I have worked with a wide variety of businesses, from dog groomers to house flippers and everything in between. I prefer to work with service based businesses and enjoy having a wide variety of different service types in my client list. It keeps things interesting and I’m always learning something new about the different industries!
What do your processes look like? Will I have to review every transaction?
9
Absolutely not! Part of what makes a good bookkeeper is learning the ins and outs of your business. If there was clearly a work trip to Italy, and I see transactions to restaurants while you were there, I can put two and two together to figure out those were travel meals. While there will come instances where I will need to reach out and see what certain things are, I always use every avenue to answer my own questions, so I don’t have to be blowing you up all the time. Whether its historical transaction data, deep dives on google, or critical thinking skills, I do my best to avoid reaching out so you can focus on what you love most… running your business!
I hired a bookkeeper and now my CPA says my books are a mess! How do I know you know how to fix it?
10
I get this all the time! It can be hard to trust independent bookkeepers as there is not one solid certification like there is with CPAs. Rest assured, I make sure to stay up to date on IRS and GAAP regulations so your books are in good hands. Additionally, if you check your my certifications tab in the menu above, you’ll see I am a senior accounting major at CSUG. This means I don’t just throw transactions where they look like they should be, but I truly understand where they need to go and why they need to go there. While I am not an accountant, the education has helped me to understand the why behind your numbers, making me a valuable asset to your team.
Do you offer services beyond transaction management, reconciliations, and financial reporting?
11
At this time, I am only offering the basics while I finish up with my schooling. I do intend to expand and offer payroll, A/R &A/P- but my first priority is making sure I have the proper education so I can provide my clients with the best service possible.
What is your go to coffee order?
12
Okay, maybe I don’t get asked this all the time. But it’s still fun to know! I drink my coffee black on the daily, but around Christmas time I can’t help but grab as many peppermint mochas as I can get my hands on. Why do I bring this up? I like to keep things casual. While I may understand complex accounting concepts and terms, chances are you don’t. So, heres to easily understood, jargon free bookkeeping.
